A.N.M. Training Centre, St. Ursula Hospital Lohardaga is established by the Ranchi Ursuline Society, Registered under the Societies’ Registration Act xxi of 1860 no.77 of 1957-1958, no.784 of 2006-2007.It is a Catholic Religious Minority Institution established and administered according to the provision of article 30 of the Constitution of India.
Saint Ursula Hospital Lohardaga – The foundation stone of Saint Ursula Hospital was laid on October 21, 1964. Two years later on September 1st 1966 it was opened to receive the indoor patients. It has a capacity of 90 beds with residential two Religious Sisters doctors, Post Bsc. Nurses, Basic Bsc. Nurses, General Nurses and Midwives, Anesthetists, Tutors, B Grade nurses and health workers. It has got spacious Delivery Room ,Nursery, Maternity , Pediatric, Male & Female Wards. Operation Theatre, Recovery Room,Laboratory, Pharmacy, Store room, Laundry, X’ray, USG ,ECG. Generator, Immunization Clinic, Ante- natal and Post- natal clinics,and a overcrowding Out patients Department.
Besides regular hospital work the hospital conducts periodical School Health programme, Community Health Programme on health education, hygiene and nutrition, natural family planning in the campus and in the villages as well.
We also collaborate with the Central Government and State Government in all the health programs e g.-
- Participating in Mukhiya Mantri Janani Shishu Swasthya Abhiyan.
- Participating in Dots Program.
- Participating in Malaria control program.
- Participating in Immunization program
Revised Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery Training School.
As the number of hospital, dispensaries and health centers went on increasing; the demand for Trained Nurses was acutely felt. Therefore an Auxiliary Nurse and midwifery Training center was opened in April 6, 1972 with 14 students with the verbal request of the Government officers at that time.
The Institution got First recognition for a period of Three ( 3 ) Years . on dated Patna, the 17th November, 72 by no.1303/B.N.R.C
The Training School got Extension of Provisional recognition on Dated, the 2nd November, 1977 by letter no.852/B.N.R.C. Patna
PERMANENT RECOGNITION was granted by letter no 26/B.N.R.C. Patna Dated Patna the 23/1/January 78 ( copy attached )
The Institution was approved for 25 ( twenty five ) seats for admission every year by letter no. 6/no-18-58/96 955 (6 ) Health Medical Education & Family Welfare Department. On Patna, dated 28.12 96)
As we felt the need to increase 15 more seats for ANM course we applied to Government of Jharkhand Health & Family Welfare Department, we received N.O.C. / Essentiality Certificate for A.N.M Nursing training . by letter no.7 ( A ) Nursing-16-11/09 255 ( 7 A) Dated 17. 7. 09 for 15 + 25 = 40 ( forty ) seats
A.N.M Training Centre St. Ursula Hospital Lohardaga strictly imbibes with the Syllabus and Regulations for Auxiliary Nurse and Midwives laid down by Indian Nursing Council New Delhi.
